A UX/UI Product Designer based on the island of New York City, with a strong foundation in enterprise SaaS and a passion for building thoughtful, scalable digital products.
As the first and only designer at a fast-growing RegTech startup, I led the creation of the company’s first design system, designed end-to-end features in close collaboration with product and engineering, and helped bring design maturity and awareness across the organization. I’ve presented prototypes, design decisions, and roadmap-aligned features to stakeholders — including speaking in front of the entire company at in-person workshops, where I helped align vision, advocate for design, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
I thrive where clarity, collaboration, and curiosity meet — and I believe great design happens when we bring people together around shared goals.
Hi, I’m Beatriz Mirela
Beyond the Screen
Design doesn’t stop at interfaces for me — it’s a way of seeing and engaging with the world. I’m constantly exploring new mediums to sharpen my creative thinking, solve problems, and expand my aesthetic sensibility.
From drawing and painting to sculpting clay — which has taught me patience, spatial thinking, and the value of working with your hands — I find joy in making things tangible. I’ve experimented with wood design, embroidery, tapestry, motion graphics, illustration, photography, cinematic storytelling, and even sound design. Each practice strengthens different muscles: form, rhythm, composition, empathy, and narrative flow.
I'm deeply inspired by the physical world and how we interact with it.
Another big part of who I am is travel — whether I’m in my home studio or crossing borders, I carry the same creative rituals with me. The world is home. Wherever I go, I draw, observe, photograph, write, and cook. Cooking, in particular, is one of my favorite forms of connection — it's how I show love, stay healthy, engage with local culture, and practice sustainability. Learning to cook with local ingredients is a way of respecting place and people, and honoring the planet.
I’m also passionate about movement and physical strength. I'm a yoga enthusiast, a biker, a skier (currently trying to switch to snowboarding), and I love carving long smooth rides on my cruiser skateboard. Whether I’m climbing a trail or rolling through a city, I’m always paying attention to flow, balance, and rhythm — the same things I care about in design.
All of these passions inform my work. They keep me curious, grounded, and always evolving.
Designed by Design
I was born and raised in Brasília, Brazil’s visionary capital — a city shaped by design from the ground up. Conceived by urbanist Lúcio Costa and realized through Oscar Niemeyer’s sculptural architecture, Brasília isn’t just where I grew up — it’s where my relationship with design began.
Living in a place where form follows purpose, and every structure tells a story, made me naturally curious about the impact design has on people’s lives. I studied at the University of Brasília (UnB), where the campus itself is a Brutalist masterpiece — bold, raw, and deeply inspiring. My early career took shape inside the very institutions that define the city: government archives and cultural centers, where I worked in and around buildings that are themselves design landmarks.
That environment gave me an early understanding of systems, accessibility, and structure — values that now guide my UX practice. Today, I bring the spirit of Brasília into my work: bold yet intentional, functional yet beautiful.
Design didn’t just call to me — it chose me. And I’ve been answering ever since.
